My name is Matt and I’m a Brand Identity Designer. I create designs which complement a company's values, enhancing their inherent strength and power. I specialize in Logo Design and Brand Identity Design, but consider myself multidisciplinary. When I was younger, I was always drawing logos and brochures in a sketch book. I had no idea that I was actually designing, or even knew what a graphic designer was. When I was 16 years old, I finally discovered "graphic design" when I was trying to make a poster for my super awesome high school punk band (The Discount Hitmen), and stumbled across a Photoshop tutorial on YouTube.
Being from western New York, there weren't many options for me in the design industry, or even any art schools (that I could afford). So, I tracked down an old copy of Adobe Creative Suite and enrolled in the "YouTube School of Design." Shortly after, I put together a portfolio and started designing for a sales and marketing company. After a few years, I decided I needed a formal education in design and enlisted in the Army for educational benefits. After serving five years as a Military Police Investigator, I enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) to obtain an AA in Graphic Design. I'm currently residing in sunny Los Angeles, helping business owners through creative problem solving.
